                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hello,<br />I need help !!<br />I am modifying a ciclop to implement the excellent solution offered by FabScan.<br />To date, the solution is almost functional: the camera is OK, the control of the 2 lasers is OK, the motor control is OK.<br />However, the WS2812B ring light cannot be operated.<br />My ciclop is equipped with a HE3D card, on which I did find a connector with the GND, VCC, MI and MO plugs.</p>
<p>I connected MO from the board to MI from the ring.<br />Someone would have any idea ?<br />Thanks in advance.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Very new to this forum so forgive if this is the wrong place to ask this question. </p>
<p>I am trying to figure out the maths / code on how a point cloud in generated when a 3d laser line scanner is scanning a part on a rotary table?</p>
<p>So my main questions are</p>
<p> </p>
<ol>
<li>Assume the laser and the camera are calibrated to each other, how do you take into account the angle of the rotary table with respect to the 3D sensor for each scan acquisition?  It is just a rotation around z for the camera by the angle that the rotary moves for each scan taken?</li>
<li>Do you need to know the rotary center?</li>
<li>Do you need to calibrate the rotary rotation and translation matrix with respect to the camera?</li>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If i put the lightning of fabscan with the camera on some cheap SBR16 rails with 4 carriages, which i have left here (actually shortest i have are 400mm length) then would the camera also photograph the top which this German reviewer on youtube saw hollow as it was above camera the object - would this work?</p>
<p>In short i do not know the angle the camera takes pictures - i would point it directly towards the rotary table.</p>
<p>Now of course a scan takes way longer then - but that's not a problem at all.</p>
<p>Is there a simple way to get this working?</p>
<p>Please note - not as important as the nema34 motor for a larger rotary table - as the objects we want to scan (friend of mine has made a few objects - he is a talented artist/painter - and he likes to scan them) do not fit on the current rotary table. The linear movement i would do with a nema23 that rotates a simplistic cheap chinese C7 ballscrew which i have left. All this is overkill to move a lightweight camera and lightning board yet i happen to have it here so why not use it. </p>
<p>Driving the nema34 and nema23 then would be done by linuxcnc preferably as it steers those motors so nice.</p>
<p>Note i also have other electronics that can do the job like smoothieboards and similar yet price of that parallel breakout board is dirt cheap. Like 5 dollar or so on ebay including shipment and old computers are for free. Whereas those other electronics boards i have are ranging in price from 120 to 200 dollar/euro. Too much in case someone else also wants to build something similar.</p>

<p>idea here is: PC computer ==&gt; parallel port (same manner i run cnc milling machines) ==&gt; nema34 motordriver (with its 60 volts psu @ 350 watt) ==&gt; nema34</p>

<p>for the r-pi same PC computer &lt;==&gt; network cable &lt;==&gt; r-pi ==&gt; hat</p>
<p>Is there simpler manner or other manner that would be software wise easier or cheaper?</p>

<p>I download version 0.92, my other configs are Raspberry 3 and PICAM 5mp. First step sd Image done, boot, ok.. </p>
<p>I modify default.config.json like ciclop.config.json.. Well.. With original Bq Bt328 mainboard, baudrate 14400 or 115200 didn't work (correct "baudrate": 19200 and "flash_baudrate": 19200) with this changes fabscan start.. But..................... Last problem...</p>
<p>Lasers and base don't move with firmware 0.92... I put ("autoflash": "False") and I try "https://github.com/mariolukas/FabScanPi-Firmware", I modify "<a id="274628940c3b67fc118de601de4a71e5-118953f7b0f231d1f31196c1394d3c9473a6e688" class="js-navigation-open link-gray-dark" title="boards.h" href="https://github.com/mariolukas/FabScanPi-Firmware/blob/master/FabScanArduinoFirmware/boards.h">boards.h</a>" with board (" #define MOTHERBOARD BOARD_CYCLOP") I upload file, but nothing..</p>

<p>Development would be easier if we have a dummy driver for the camera device and the serial connection. Such drivers would allow to run the FabScanPi-Server without the hardware. </p>

<p>What i have in my mind is:</p>
<p>Dummy cam driver: </p>
<p>A camera class which is implemented such as the one for the picamera, but it should grab the images from a folder instead of a camera. This folder should keep different plain pictures which i will make with the fabscan hardware. One set during a scan and one set during the settings window is opened.</p>
<p>Serial dummy driver:</p>
<p>The serial driver is quite easy, it should be a the serial driver as it is now but only as a stub/mock which will do nothing expect to confirm that the message was send.</p>
<p>Both dummy drivers should be encapsulated in a way that you can set the driver in the config. There is already something like that for the camera driver, because in an early stage of implementing that i experimented to write a driver for usb cams (parts of this code are still there).</p>
<p>I think that might be an excellent entry point for you and it will help us all and especially the guy who is developing the current frontend version because he does not own a working hardware setup at the moment. I would appreciate that.</p>
