I'm a bit disappointed .... everything fits ... the calibration is 100% ok ... the hardware works 100% (build after 1 month and solder again) - the default.config.json has been edited and the correct valuesI'm a bit disappointed .... everything fits ... the calibration is 100% ok ... The vertical line of the laser is 100% exactly aligned with the line of the camera and is on a line .... the hardware works 100% --- Laser, camera, light, Stepmotor with intervals (build after 1 month and re-solder) - the default.config.json was edited and entered the correct values. Nevertheless, nothing sensible comes when scanning .... see picture

What went wrong? I scanned similar things a hundret times... Did you read the documentation?

Maybe, something is wrong with your hardware...

Best,

René

This is an expected result for this kind of object. Shiny, reflective and transparent surfaces are always a problem. This applies to all image based 3d scanning methods. You can solve this by mating the surface with something like sprayable chalk ( in german Sprüh Kreide).

not the Hardware was the problem. The Calibration was not god. I think now is this ok. The first scan now needs 150 min. I played with treshold and resolution. How is the object scanned? Now I have the resolution at 100% and Trehold at almost 0%. Maybe that's ok. If I set both values to 100%, the RPI crashes. He does not do anything anymore.

Without the log it is nearby impossible to find what the crash reason is. Please attach your log file.

the problem was not the hardware nor the software. The problem was that in the original Raspi-config (sudo raspi-config), when I activated the WLAN, I quickly made the update. I have madet a new SD Card again and painted everything black and the scanner works very well. A 2nd laser is also mounted.

I am glad to hear that it works now. Can you share some of your latest results?

I only need the contour for the CAD program. The texture is not important. If both knobs (Treshold and Resolution) are set to 100%, the Pi crashes ----  see Attach

Personally I use TIPP EX Corrective Bottle
It's a little difficult to delete (you have to scratch), but for the scans it's great.
And everyone has it at home.
