Hello guys

I would like to build a FabscanPi and use the Pi4 straight away.
The V7805-2000 cannot be used due to the higher power consumption. Can I use this one  here?
I am not the great electronics engineer and therefore I have to ask a question about the connection.
The V7805 has three pins. But the alternative stepdown has 4 cables. I think I have to connect in +, in - and out + and out - not connected. Am I correct?

thank you

Yes this should work. I already used another one but connections are similar ( voltage needs to be adjusted by the poti, works with up to 5A).

Just connect it this way:

V7805-2000.      alternative stepdown

------------------------------------------

5Vout                 5V  (+)

12Vin.                12V (+)

GND                   Both GND (12v - and 5v-)

From what i can see on the product images... in your case 5V (+ out) is Yellow. 12V (+ in) is red and GND is black for both. It is important to double check the markings on the device after you received it! If available check also the datasheet. Images on amazon can be different than the product you will receive ( especially when you order products from china).

Don't forget to use a fan for the Raspberry Pi 4. I recommend to use this solution

@mario

many thanks for the quick reply.
I'll take the fan into account with the part of thingiverse.
Is it possible to tap the required 12V directly from the Pi Hat?
