Hi!
I've been thinking that would it be possible to "scale up" the FabScanPi so you can scan slightly bigger objects?
Would this kind of modding of the FabScanPi deteriorate the scanning resolution etc?

Just moved the topic. It is a more general question.
Of course! You can build the box bigger. The auto calibration will measure the dimensions of your build. But keep in mind, there will be a size where it is hard to discover the laser with the camera. E.g. when the box as big that the laser line will be very far away from camera. But doubling the size shoulden't be a big deal.
I would love to see such a custom build, because i don't have the time to give it a try yet.
