I want to paint my case inside. I mean black is good but many say white is better. Does anyone already have experience with it?

I think black is the better option, because white can cause reflections what actually might disturb the laser recognition. The object scan process is performed in total darkness, that is the reason why the FabScanPi has a lid.

I have to agree with Mario, black is the best (but only matte black).
I have covered the inside with matte black adhesive foil (from the hardware store) and provided with a narrow strip of orange paper adhesive tape to adjust the laser. Because the foil swallows so much light that the software no longer displays the laser overlay.

As a tip, I still had --> cut off a USB cable connect red/black wire to laser + battery pack --> and test it before buying in the hardware store.

Anything that does not cover the film or that would be too difficult to cover, just paint (a big black permanent marker does a good job here).

Of course you can also paint the turntable to avoid scattering. I did not do that, because I still want to see the crosshair and the scatters are easy to remove with meshlab.

You can see it on the Picture............ i love it. ;-)

With v.0.7.0 calibrating with 2 lasers already works .... only the scan is not yet, because the scan stops after half.

But I'm in good spirits that Mario can integrate the 2nd laser.

@danilo0702

I have everything that is possible on the HAT soldered to have all the options. The HAT had connections for 'Laser 1' next to 'Security switch' and next to 'Laser 2'. .
The circuit diagram of the Hat can be found here: https://github.com/watterott/RPi-FabScan-HAT/blob/master/hardware/RPi-FabScan-HAT_v10.pdf

Have a look at this thread: https://fabscan.org/community/hardware/rpi-fabscan-hat/#post-120
The thread is unfortunately in German, but you can translate with https://translate.google.de/
There will soon be new pictures, the current ones are from my first remodeling. (The connections of the two lasers are unfortunately not so easy to see, because the cable is quite short).

If you are interested in Power-Button and Status-LED, have a look at: https://github.com/helgetnt/fabscanpi-extender

have fun............... ?
